A Conversation with Kim Jefferies

How do you help students?

Indirectly, I help students by supporting fundraising efforts at the university. It's satisfying to know that we can help even just one student earn their degree and head out into the world without a mountain of debt. I also seek out ways to directly help students through volunteer opportunities or simply by answering questions and helping with directions.

What would you tell a student who is thinking about attending A&M-Commerce?

We are a small college town in close proximity to a major metropolitan area. Students receive a world-class but affordable education.

What is something you enjoy about working at A&M-Commerce? Why?

I enjoy the collaboration among various departments and staff. No one works in a silo here. I also enjoy the many opportunities I have to volunteer and give back to our campus and community, whether it's advocating for staff by serving on Staff Council, helping students as a Lion Mover on move-in day, or donating to programs or initiatives that I feel are inspiring change on our campus.
